Have you heard the saying that less is more? This couldn’t apply more when it comes to releasing the pain and restrictions in your neck. This concept can be applied to ANY stretch / movement, but basically the key is to exhale into the movement and inhale when coming back to neutral.
If you follow my blog posts, you will see I upload regular meditations, which means I am a huge fan of mindfulness practices. Breathwork on any scale, to me, is a gateway for approaching mindfulness. So with this routine, I invite you to set the intention that you are –
a)SLOWING down both your movement AND your breath
b) that you are being AWARE of how you are FEELING in your body and in particular, the area you are moving (mobilising)
c) you will know when you’re cup is FULL, in other words, rather then doing what the ‘prescribed’ reps are, listen to when you are done. It many take a few more reps then what I tell you in the video, it may take less – in any case, this will be different each time you do this.
